Covid-19: Telangana adds 178 new cases; one patient dies | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Saturday recorded 178 new cases of Covid-19 while one patient died.
With this the count of cases so far in the state has touched 2,98, 631 cases as the death toll stands at 1,633.
So far, a total of 2,95,059 patients in the state have recovered from the coronavirus infection.
The recovery rate in the state is currently 98.80 per cent, better than the country average recovery rate of 97.1 per cent while the case fatality rate (CFR) is currently 0.54 per cent.
Telangana continues to fare better than most other parts of the country, on both the counts.
The number of active cases in the state has increased to 1,939 on Saturday against 1,815 a fortnight back.
On Saturday, a total of 40,821 samples were tested for Covid-19.
Telangana has now completed 86.6 lakh tests and has reached 2.32 lakh sample testing per million population.
Of the total cases recorded so far in the state, 70 per cent are asymptomatic cases while 30 per cent are symptomatic cases.
On Saturday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recorded 30 new cases while Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 20 and Ranga Reddy recorded 15 cases.
All other districts except Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet, recorded new cases on Saturday.
